On 12 December 2011, TEGV organized an unforgettable evening, bringing together the most powerful voices of our country.
Due to the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers and the declaration of the European Year of Volunteering in 2011, "TEGV Volunteers Week Regional Activities" took place at all our activity locations throughout Turkey.
On 5 December, 2011, we actualized the 6th of the "Volunteering" themed conferences, which we have been organizing as part of the "International Volunteer Day" since 2006.
UN staff members will join UN Resident Coordinator Mr Shahid Najam this Friday 18th of November by volunteering personally for a non-governmental organisation TEGV (Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı or Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation), which is engaged in supporting primary educational for children nationwide and promotion of volunteerism.
TEGV has 1 Educational Park in Van, and 3 Learning Units in Erciş, Muradiye and Çatak. We notified the provincial disaster and coordination desk established by the governorate that the doors of our park is open to them and that it is ready to provide all kinds of support within the means of TEGV.
TEGV and Citibank maintain Savings Project since 2005 in order to make children understand the importance of material savings and to develop conscious consumer habits in children.
Oriflame, one of the leading brands worldwide, joined supporters of TEGV. Oriflame, which undertook operational expenses of 2 Learning Units of our Foundation in Ankara-Mamak and in Istanbul-Beykoz for 2 years, will be providing support for around 4.000 children of ours.
In the scope of Koç Academy Leader Development Programs Leader and Human Social Responsibility Project, the 23 member project team has procured support books for Citizenship Education Program through the book campaign they organised in September. The Project has ended by the "Children's Rights" activity organised on 3 October World Children's Day at our Zeyrek Learning Unit.
Adım Adım Ateşböceği (Step by Step Firefly) will be activated by means of donations which will be provided by runners of Adım Adım Organisation who will run in the Eurasia Marathon on 16 October 2011.
TEGV has opened doors of its activity locations on 26 September 2011 to provide educational support for tens of thousands of more children of us.
Our National Meeting, which gathers all employees of our Foundation every year, is realised with the name of "Annual Sharing Meeting" this year between 6th and 8th of August, being hosted by Yeditepe University. The meeting, which is organised under the title of "Children are happy and Hopeful for the Future at TEGV", was participated by 171 persons in total who work at our activity points in 36 provinces and at our central office in Istanbul.
2011 Summer Activities Closing Festivity is held at Ferit Aysan Educational Park on 26 July 2001 Tuesday by cooperation between our Foundation and a 17 member project group, which was formed within the scope of Koç Academy Leader Development Programs Leader and Human Social Responsibility project.
Applications started for BILGI Young Social Entrepreneur Awards carried out by Istanbul Bilgi University and put into practice with cooperation of International Youth Foundation, Sylvan/ Laureate Foundation and Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV). Deadline for the contest application is 8 November 2011.
The "Journey of Dreams Exhibition" opened at Optimum Outlet Shopping Centre, composed of works of children within the scope of the Dreams Workshop Project which is maintained since 8 years now by Nokia, Turkey Educational Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) and International Youth Foundation (IYF). The exhibition may be visited between 26th July and 05th August.
The project called "Our Energy For Children" launched by Zorlu Energy Group in order to create awareness in children about the importance of energy sources, renewable energy sources and energy-efficient usage, still continues to being held in Education Parks of TEGV.
Educational support shall be provided for our children around 50.000 by means of 75.000 SMS messages and around 3 Million donations that were sent in the scope of our "1 SMS means support for TEGV, 6 SMS means the future of a child" campaign.
